Urban Culture Experience x Play with Changwon Farmers Farm to Table Event
There are about 3.13 million households that raise pets, 15% of all households, with one in four pets . In addition, the population of pet plants is increasing to the extent that a new word meaning ‘plant butler ’ has been coined and there are hospitals for pet plants.
Changwon City held a pet animal and plant culture festival at Changwon Yongji Culture Park on April 27, 2024.
Starting with a greeting from Changwon City’s 1st Vice Mayor Jang Geum-yong, there was a commendation ceremony and introduction of guests.
While ‘the Masan Shinwol Elementary School Orchestra’ performed as an after-dinner performance, pet plogging and green plogging events were held around the park.
‘The Masan Shinwol Elementary School Orchestra’ presented a performance that garnered everyone’s attention as it boasted first place in the national competition.
Based on the event venue, the pet experience booth was on the right, the pet plant experience booth was on the left, and the center was comprised of a camping-style rest area and an ‘agility zone’, a playground for pets.
There was also an event where if you visited a designated sticker tour booth and collected all 5 stickers, you would receive a souvenir.

When you enter the pet experience booth, you can receive a free pet health checkup consultation. You can find your lost pet through inscription registration, which registers the shape of your dog’s nose like a human fingerprint, and we also provide consultation on adopting abandoned dogs on site.
At the Stray Cat Protection Association, if you write down what you want to say to your cat, they gave you a cat keyring, a can and a churu to give to your cat as a gift.
At the event, various brands were handing out new, nutritious dog food.
You can also make dog paw shape soap and receive free grooming demonstrations at the pet grooming academy.
I participated in making a hand sanitizer and received what I made.
Many dogs participated in the ‘Meonglang Sports Day’ held at the Agility Zone, showing the chemistry between dogs and their owners through ‘Wait’, ‘Bang Bang’, and ‘Talent’ shows. All participating teams were given souvenirs.
The afternoon program included ‘A pet ticket talk show’ with director Lee Woong-jeong, a dog behavior correction expert famous for appearing on ‘TV Animal Farm’.
And ‘Cat Ethology’ with veterinarian Kim Myeong-cheol, who appeared on EBS’ ‘Please Take Care of My Cat’, and finally,there was a ‘bubble show’ as a celebratory performance.
For people who are tired of the fast-paced modern life, animals have become friends and companions in life rather than possessions that bring joy. People grow plants and receive the same healing and comfort as they do with pets. As the number of people with pet animals and plants increases, the various types becomes more diverse, and the pet animal and plant industry is expanding and becoming larger. <2024 Changwon City Pet Animal and Pet Plant Culture Festival> was an event where pet animal and plant owners could obtain useful products and information, and It was an opportunity for people who do not raise animals or plants to understand pet owners and the pet industry.
