Included in Long-Term Comprehensive Development Plan
Changwon City has established Changwon’s Long-Term Comprehensive Development Plan 2015 in a bid to get Junam Reservoir registered as UNESCO World Heritage.
UNESCO World Heritage. In the effort to list the reservoir with UNESCO, the city is going to exploit its strength as East Asia’s largest habitat for wintering birds to apply for its membership for World Heritage and raise its value.
In the second phase, the city will apply for the reservoir’s registration as UNESCO World Heritage while continuing with persistent persuasion and information sharing.
Meanwhile, the city will push for expansion of coastal cruise tour and operation of water taxi or bus with a view to creating a maritime network that links up the old areas of Masan, Changwon, and Jinhae.
Besides, Changwon City is going to work to increase tourists by minimum 75% and specifically, get 100,000 international tourists each year.
