The City of Changwon owns a small farmland just outside the city center. The farm has been made into a community farm for Changwon residents interested in growing vegetables and maintaining their own garden. The farm has 200 plots of small agricultural spaces where residents can grow a wide variety of produce.

For a yearly fee of 40,000 won, local green thumbs can cultivate their gardening skills and happily spend their days outside digging, trowelling and planting on the farm. There are spickets, hoses, and water basins available for gardeners, and the farm is accessible by bus lines 13 and 23 (although a bag of fertilizer may give you some unwanted attention on the bus).

Walking among the different plots one can see gardens growing tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, pumpkins, cucumbers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green onions, corn and a variety of lettuces.

The yearly application deadline is in March, and applications are accepted in order they are submitted. If you want more information about how to obtain a farm plot for yourself or your organization please visit: www: http://www.ochehyang.com/
