Changwon City has started a program for pregnant foreign women to help them give birth to healthy babies. The first 20 women taking part will be advised on how to take care of their health during pregnancy.
Under the program, which will be carried out for eight weeks every Friday, pregnant women from foreign countries will be able to check the needs of each unborn child, receive massages and be educated on how they can best take care of their children once they are born.
One participant in the program said she was able to deal with some of the fears of giving birth to a child in a foreign country.
A mother-in-law said, “I have been participating in the program with my daughter-in-law and we have had plenty of time to talk.”
Meanwhile, the Changwon Multicultural Family Support Center will be organizing programs for immigrant pregnant women and mothers of newborns from May 28.
